SmartAsset utilises a child item attached to the trackable host such that a change out may be effected by simply changing the parent codes of incoming /outgoing Serial Numbers. 

By adopting this approach each rotable keeps its own identity, optionally using an auto allocated “R” number (set in control form) for life. This includes all of the usual associated asset data such as reference data, apl’s, readings, remarks and standard activity links.

Asset Standards

The asset code should not have any assets standards records (nothing in the schedules). The asset standards records should be against the rotable asset which is a child of the actual asset itself.

When you create an assets standards record for the rotable asset and/or a link membership, the solution builds a schedule record against the rotable asset.
