Outlook Calendars
Until now, the process of scheduling maintenance tasks in Outlook calendars required the planner to manually drag/drop each SmartAsset job onto the desired calendar for the selected date and time.
Working Hours/Days
Where a selected/inserted task has a date and time that matches the current calendar date range, the subsequent task appointment will assume that date and time. However, if the date is outside the current date range, the Outlook from-date will be used.
Holidays/Shutdowns
Provision is also made to recognize non-working periods such as annual leave closures and public holidays whereby bulk task insertion will commence on the next working day.
Insert Job Requests and Standard Activities
In the past, schedules for job requests and standard activities could only be inserted onto calendars via the Manual planning capability.
Now, they can be dragged and dropped onto calendars and inserted using the bulk insert option as shown.
Recurring Standard Activities
Special provision is made for recurring standard activities, such that recurring appointments can be generated for them and reflected in the nominated calendar according to the number of schedule entries that exist for the item according to the perpetual horizon setting in SmartAsset.
In the above example, the schedule for a recurring standard activity has been dragged onto the calendar and on recognizing this, the Outlook Addin asks the user if they wish to created recurring occurences for the task (in this case, each 7 days).
