Making a Metric to track deliveries.
This is an example explaining how to set up a Metric - see a general overview of the functionality here.
You must be a Super user with Manage Templates access to set up Metrics.
Setting up a Deliveries Metric
In this example, you'll set up a Metric that will allow Site Assistant to tell you about deliveries logged for each of your projects.

Find Metrics in the Admin menu.

From the Metrics screen, hit the green Create button to get started.

General Details
First, you'll need to choose a name for your Metric. You'll use this name when you ask Site Assistant questions, so simple and intuitive is best. We're calling this one "Deliveries".

The type of metric is Quantity (count) because we're not measuring hours, volume or a quantity in this case, but simply the number of deliveries.
Sources
We'll need to let the Metric know where to get its data from using Sources. In this case, the deliveries are recorded in the Daily Operations Report template, so we click Add Source and choose this template.
The deliveries are captured in the Materials table in this form, and the Date that indicates when the delivery happened is the "Date" field.

Attributes
We can use the same Metric to query different attributes, or breakdowns, of the deliveries. For example, we might want to know "How many deliveries of cement this month?" or "How many deliveries for job 5106 this week?".
To set this up, we add some more attributes - click Manage Attributes, then Add Attribute.
In this case, we'll add 3 attributes - "Supplier", "Job No." and "Material".

Then click the Source and Edit - for each Attribute, we need to choose the field that gives us the relevant information. For example, we find out which Supplier each delivery came from, in the "Supplier" field.
Preview
You also have the choice of showing the summary graphic as a cumulative chart, or a non-cumulative chart. Choose whichever makes sense to you.
Click OK to save the Metric when you're done, making sure to Activate it (in the General section at the top) if you're ready to use it.
The Result
Now, we can ask Site Assistant about the deliveries logged against any project, as long as it uses the Daily Operations Report template (which we chose as a Source - if you have multiple delivery dockets or records in the organization, you could add more Sources).
Just adding one Source and three Attributes in this example enables me to ask questions about deliveries for any of my projects.

And since Site Assistant is available on our mobile apps now, you get all of this information in the field!
Feel free to try it out - and contact us if you have any questions, using the messenger in the bottom right corner of your screen 😃
