Putting questions in your forms.
Requirements
To use Question Fields, you need to ensure your mobile users are using one of the following versions released in April 2019 (or later):
- iOS 5.26.0
- Windows 1.21.0
- Android 1.18.0
We recommend that users upgrade to the latest version of their mobile app, but If you need to temporarily support earlier versions, then please use one of the Legacy Question Fields instead.
Using Question Fields
Question fields can be used to ask the user to specify the answer to a question in the form. By default, question fields are simple Yes/No questions.

However, you can also configure questions to have up to five answers that you specify.

Note: Be careful with the number of questions and the length of each answer - on small devices the answers may get truncated if they don't fit on the screen.
Setting up Question Fields in the Template Editor
To add a Question Field, drag and drop Question from the list of controls on the left (you can also double click on it).

Then click on the cog icon to the right of the new question field to open its settings.

Here you should specify the Display Name, the Question, and the Answers. By default the Answers are Yes and No, but you can click on the trash icon to remove these and specify your own answers if you prefer. You can also use the Answer menu to select common sets of answers, and the most recent sets of custom answers you may have specified in earlier questions.

Questions in Tables
Table columns are always set to be Text Fields by default. Use the column type menu at the top of the settings to change the type of the column to a Question.

Advanced Settings
You can specify a range of advanced settings for Question fields, including the ability to attach forms or actions to the question, whether images can be attached to the question, and the ability to customise Merge Fields, Preview Values, and PDF output translations.
Merge Fields
Questions have up to ten merge fields that can be referenced in the Word document associated with the template (if any).

- Merge field 1 is the Answer (e.g. "Yes", "No", etc.
- Merge field 2 is the Question.
- Merge fields 3 - 7 are "matched or unmatched" values. By default the merge field will contain "X" if the user's answer matches the corresponding answer in the list otherwise it will be blank. If there are fewer than five answers in the list, then the unused answers will always be unmatched.
- Merge fields 8-10 only appear if there is a linked form or action.
