Overview of integration tags
Integration tags are used in forms to identify:
- which fields exchange data with other Damstra product modules when the form is closed, and
- what type of data is contained in each of these fields.
You can manually enter an integration tag for a field in the Integration Tag setting for a field. Each integration tag can only be on one field in a template, so you cannot save a template with the same integration tag on more than one field.
For any template where you want the forms created using that template to exchange data with other Damstra product modules, the Managed by Damstra flag must be turned on in the template’s Advanced Settings.
Once the Managed by Damstra setting is turned on, only users with the Edit Managed Templates permission can edit those templates.
Please note that you cannot create new integration tags. Instead, you can only use predefined integration tags which are detailed in the list of integration tags.
Example use cases
Integration tags are most commonly used to save form data into an Employee Profile in EPP.
When a form is closed, data from the form saved under integration tags is passed back to EPP and stored against the relevant employee’s profile. For example, if the form is a competency assessment then a successful assessment is recorded as a new skill against the employee’s profile. This is controlled by the setup of the form template and happens automatically without intervention needed from the EPP Configuration Team.
Listed below are detailed use cases involved for above purpose:
- Use integration tag to link employee to EPP
- Use integration tag to link skill code to EPP
